Calcium is a mineral that is an essential necessity for a human body for life to constantly help build bones and keeping them healthy. In addition, they are also used to help control muscle and nerve function and manage acid/base balance in human blood stream.
About 99% of calcium is said to be lodged in human bones and teeth. Every day, a human sheds calcium through skin, nails, hair, sweat, urine and feces. Once that is gone, it’s gone and human bodies cannot produce any more calcium. That is the reason why it’s said that a human body should procure adequate calcium to compensate for the ones that are shed and gone. Deficiency in calcium can lead to a whole lot of problems ranging from numbness in fingers and toes to muscle cramps, convulsions, lethargy, loss of appetite, and abnormal heart rhythm.
Medical experts recommend that human beings should ingest calcium from the best source of calcium, foods rich in calcium including calcium rich vegetables and dairy products.
